Google Popular Times Free Live Shopping Feature

Google Popular Times

Some people, me included are planning Black Friday like a military operation.

'Meet me at the south entrance to Primark at 0850 hours, don't forget to bring your bags for life!'

Any way, we Black Friday-goers need all the help we can get, and this nifty little piece of mobile tech will help.

Google rolled out their Popular Times feature in 2015 which allowed googlers to see the peaks and troughs of the average customer footfall at any given store.

Today Google announced a new live feature where you can find out if your shopping destination is busy right now.

They can also tell how long, on average, people spend at the store, even down to different departments within the store, allowing you to further plan your Black Friday weekend with military precision.

It works by Google apps sending back locations from user's devices and there's no way for businesses to opt out of the feature. All you need to do is search for the place that you wish to visit.

Before you head to the malls or retail parks I recommend registering your credit cards with cash back retailers to earn some cash back, click here to see my how-to guide.
