Stop Hackers Downloading Files On To Your Computer

I love Google Chrome, it's the speedy-gonzalez of the browsing-sphere.

But not all browsers are the same, and unless you know your way around the Settings you could be opening yourself up to a heap of cyber trouble.

The IT department in my day job alerted us to a security issue with Google Chrome to spy on your passwords. Often hackers will prepare websites which automatically download a SCT-File (software computer technology apparently) and you wouldn't even know it was happening. So follow these three simple steps to give you a last line of defense between you and the problem.

How To Stop Hackers From Downloading Files On To Your Computer Without Your Knowledge

1. Go to your settings

2. Click on 'Show advanced settings'

3. Tick 'Ask to save each file before Downloading.'

It's only simple if you know how, and now you'll know if pesky hackers are trying to download a file on to your computer without your knowledge, by giving you a prompt every time a file is attempting to be downloaded.
